Locksmiths are the ones we call when we need duplicate keys, or any keys for that matter, made. They are the ones who specialize in locks and opening them, which is where they get their name. However, you might not be completely aware of just what types of keys locksmiths can make. Although almost everyone has a house and car key, there are other types of keys which can prove extremely useful in certain situations. Master Keys
Master keys are the types of keys which grant you access to numerous locks. While the average person usually doesn't have the need for a master key, a landlord or business owner whose business has expanded so much that he or she is constantly having to carry around a huge ring of keys can certainly benefit from one. Instead of having to guess and fumble with a huge ring of keys, having one master key can grant the owner access to all rooms that he or she needs to gain access to. High Security Keys High security keys are ones that are restricted. Business owners who want to ensure that no one can even get a duplicate copy of their key can choose to have a high security key made. Nobody can obtain a copy of a high security key without express written permission from the original purchaser who initially had the high security key commissioned. These are the types of keys most often used by government agencies and other high security places. High security key locks are constructed with special cylinders that can't be easily defeated with a drill like most other types of locks can. They also feature special bars within their locks that make them highly resistant to being picked and broken into.
